The work „Eclipse“ explores the duality of human experience, light and shadow, consciousness and the unconscious. It is a visual representation of these opposites, captured in a moment of harmony and transition.
The square format of the painting symbolizes the structure and stability that life often seems to offer. The black background represents the unknown, the mysterious, and the deep realms of the subconscious that we explore daily.
The face in the center is divided: the half with the closed eye is shaped by a moon. This represents tranquility, the inner self, and the unconscious.
The other half of the face, with the open eye, is surrounded by sun rays emanating from behind the head. The sun stands for consciousness, clarity, and the outer world. The rays symbolize the pursuit of enlightenment, understanding, and truth.
By combining these elements and colors, I aim to depict the constant interaction and balance between our inner and outer worlds. „Eclipse“ is a moment of transition, the union of opposites, and a symbol of the harmony we can find within ourselves.
